VANCOUVER,Washington - Governors State University cross country teams continue to set school records in 2023 and three Jaguar runners qualified for the NAIA National meet today in Vancouver, Washington.

Race times are set today for the men (12:30 CST) and women's race (1:30 CST) out in the Pacific Northwest.

Krysta Stanko (14th in the Women's CCAC Conference meet on November 4), Brandon Armendarez (3rd at the Men's CCAC Meet November 4) and Daniel Zavala (9th at CCAC) all qualified as individuals (the most ever in a season by GSU cross country). GSU Assistant Coach Lenny Baumann was GSU's previous NAIA nationals qualifier in 2021.

"I am so proud of Krysta, Daniel, and Brandon. They put in the work all off season and ran tough all throughout the cross country season. These three truly deserve this. The best part of this is that these three are such good people, that you can't help but be happy for them. It will be a great learning experience for the future as Brandon is a junior, Daniel is a sophomore, and Krysta is just a freshman. The future is bright for them!," said GSU Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach John Niendorf.
