MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM 2nd AT MIDWEST CLASSIC - GSU'S BRANDON ARMENDAREZ 2nd OVERALL
BOURBONNAIS, IL - GSU Men's cross country team had a strong overall effort led by Brandon Armendarez' 2nd overall in the 8K run and the Jaguars placing second of nine schools in the team competition in the Midwest Classic at Aspen Ridge Golf Course.
GSU Coach John Niendorf talked about his men's team at the Midwest Classic.
"I was pretty pleased with how the men performed today. Brandon ran strong and took 2nd overall in the race. A lot of the freshmen were able to successfully battle through their first 8k. I thought we had some guys really step it up for us today and that was able to help us get 2nd overall in the field. The effort was there and I think that these guys have even better performances to come over the next few races. The men know what they have to do to go far this year and we will make the adjustments we need to leading up to Bethel to give us a shot to go deeper into November than ever before," said Coach Niendorf.
