Men's - Women's Cross Country Teams Complete 2023 Season Placing 3rd and 5th at CCAC Championships

GSU Coach John Niendorf talks about his men's team performance at the CCAC Championship Meet, "I am so proud of these athletes for how they performed at conference! The men took 3rd place in a very competitive conference. Brandon was 3rd overall with a 25:08 8k. Brandon led the entire race right up until the run and I love that he went for it all. Daniel was 9th with a 25:49. Granison missed all conference by one spot and ran a 26:08. Randy and Peter stepped up big time to help us secure 3rd place. These men have overachieved all year and I think they took a lot of people by surprise this season. Now we wait and see who qualified for Nationals. Overall, it certainly was a historic day for GSU cross country,"Coach Niendorf said.

Coach Niendorf on the women's CCAC Championship Meet "I was really happy with how the women performed at conference. They truly fought and battled the whole way in a very deep and competitive conference. Krysta and Priya both took 14th and 15th to secure their all-conference spots for the women. Camila, Marielle, and Yahaira stepped up in a big way to secure the number 3, 4, and 5 spots for the team score. This was highest finish for the women in GSU history. These women never complain and they just put the work in everyday. I am so proud of how hard they all worked this season and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this young squad. It's been a great season, but it's not over yet," said Niendorf.
