Vancouver, Washington - GSU CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS AT NAIA NATIONAL MEET IN PACIFIC NORTHWEST

GSU Coach John Niendorf talked about his two men qualifiers Brandon Armendarez (68th) and Daniel Zavala (142nd) "I was really happy with how Brandon and Daniel represented GSU at Nationals. Brandon went for All-American and nearly got it. He ran with a lot of guts out there. Daniel finished in the top half of the race in the best field the NAIA has to offer."

"They both ran really tough out there on a difficult course and the coaching staff is so proud of all they have accomplished this year. Both these guys are so positive and come to practice everyday, ready to put in the work. The fun part is that they're so young, we will get to see them continue to develop as runners next year."

Coach Niendorf on GSU's Krysta Stanko finished 228th of 300+ racers. "Krysta ran a great race out there today! It is so hard to make it to Nationals as a freshman and I thought she ran fantastic. She beat a lot of runners that beat her at conference. Krysta worked so hard all year and really took her training seriously."

"I think it makes it even more special for Krysta, because she never made it to State in high school, so to make it to Nationals in college meant that much more to her. I couldn't ask for a better runner to coach this season. She is such a kind, humble, and hard-working person. She deserved it!"
