GSU CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS RUN FRIDAY AT BETHEL - (Women Finish 9th) (Men Finish 6th of 18 Teams) -

GSU CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS RUN FRIDAY AT BETHEL - (Women Finish 9th of 17 Teams) (Men Finish 6th of 18 Teams) - GSU's Brandon Armendarez, 10th, top CCAC Finisher - 25:49

"Today was a big day on the men's side for this meet. There were multiple ranked teams at this meet, including the number 1 team in the country, and our guys stepped up to the task. As a team, we were able to average 26:45 for the 8k, the fastest team average in school history. Brandon ran out of his mind today, breaking the school record previously held by assistant coach, Lenny Baumann. He was the fastest runner representing the CCAC this weekend, running a time of 25:49, and believe he should be CCAC runner of the week.

Daniel and Granison stepped up in a big way, running 26:13 and 26:30 respectively. There were a ton of pr's across the entire team and it was fun to compete against some of the best teams in the country today. I am proud of how our men competed today and I look forward to seeing them compete again in a couple weeks," said GSU Head Coach John Niendorf.

"I was really happy with how these women competed at Bethel University today. Priya and Krysta helped us out a lot today, finishing 28th and 30th in a crowded field, full of ranked teams. Sydney was able to pr in the race and took 45th place overall. Camila and Marielle had huge days today as well. They each pr'd by a significant margin.

I think that the most fun part about this women's team is that people forget how young we are. 6 of the top 7 on our team are freshmen and that makes me super excited about the future of this program. I love seeing girls like Camilia and Christina destroy their high school times by minutes. These girls have been working so hard and they deserve continued success. The rest of this season is going to be fun to watch." said Coach Niendorf.
