UNIVERSITY PARK, IL— Standout fifth-year outside hitter Dunja Tatic of the Governors State women's volleyball team was named to the All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team at the end of the 2022 season last Fall. Tatic is the only GSU student-athlete to earn all-conference honors five-straight seasons. She was a first team selection in 2018, 2019, 2021 (fall), and 2022 (fall), and a second-team pick in 2021 (spring).

The Jaguars men's and women's teams had a host of top finishing performances including: men's 4x800, featuring Russell Ward, Randy Almarales, Omar Mohamed, and Colin O'Brien, were All-Conference with their 3rd place finish.
Also taking All-Conference was Clark Fremouw, who went up against a tough shot-put field and was able to take 2nd place. Clark also made history being the first GSU thrower to compete at conference in the Track team's short history.
Daniel Zavala placed 7th place in the 5k and Russell Ward scored points in the 800. Russell placed 6th and was the first GSU athlete to break 2:00 minutes in the 800.

The impressive win for GSU ended IU South Bend's 33-game home winning streak (last home loss for the Titans was in 2022 vs. St. Francis). It also snapped a 10-game losing streak vs. the Titans with the last GovState win in the series - the 2017-18 season.
Senior "Z" Chevre led GovState scoring 30 points hitting 11-13 field goals and totaled four steals in the victory.
Tabetha Jones scored 17 first half points to lead the Jaguars to a 39-31 halftime lead. She had 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in the win.
GSU went on a 10-0 third quarter run to forge ahead to double-digit leads for the remainder of the game.
Kalvina Eubanks had a double-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and Cencere McDaniel scored in double figures with 15 points for the winners shooting a season-high 33-56 field goals (59%), totaling 10 team steals, and out-rebounding IU 33-21.
"D" Washington joined the five starters contributing 6 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds in GSU's fourth straight win in the 2024-25 season.

CHICAGO --- Call it a sweep for Governors State University's Vincent Davis (Chicago, Ill.) after the sophomore power forward claimed both Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending Feb. 2.
Davis had his hands in on all aspects of the Jaguars' offense and defense, averaging 24.5 points on 50 percent shooting from the field (16-of-32), 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in his two games played last week.
Governors State split the decisions to put itself at 10-12 overall and 6-8 in conference play.
Davis had a scrapbook game last Wednesday in a 91-82 road victory at Judson University. Not only did he ring up a game-high 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting (64.7 pct.), but he also totaled six rebounds (five defensive), six assists, four blocks and two steals.
He added another 17 points, seven rebounds, three steals and one assist on Saturday in a 72-65 setback to Indiana University South Bend.

Governors State University men's basketball beat Judson 91-82 for a solid road win.
The Jaguars (10-11, 6-7) were led in scoring by Vincent Davis with 32 points.

LOUISVILLE, KY. – GSU's women's bowling team finished 3rd at the Tier 2 One-Day MSC Thomas Burris Memorial Tournament on Sunday. This is the teams highest tournament finish in program history for the second-year Jaguars!
GSU was led by sophomore, Cameryn Landers who had games of 196, 245, 226, 247 averaging 228.5 setting the 4-game school record, also setting the record for highest average in an event.
Helping lead the Jaguars, was freshman, Jenna Ritchie who finished 8th individually averaging 222, with a high game of 237.

All five GSU women's starters scored in double figures to beat SAU, & limited the Bees to 9 first half half points to lead 33-9 at halftime.
Cencere McDaniel 17, Zareia Chevre 14, Kalvina Eubanks 12, Tabetha Jones 12 points, team-high 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Da'Naria Washington 10 points, 3 blocked shots.
GSU's Tyrell Isom (30) and Vincent Davis scored 23 points each to lead the men's team to a 83-79 victory over St. Ambrose.
Isom buried six straight free throws down the stretch to give the Jaguars a hard-earned win to even the 2024-25 season record at 7-7.

"D" had a team-high 13 rebounds and four blocked shots in last week's 69-62 road win over D2 University of Indianapolis. She also led GSU in scoring Saturday with 22 points in 92-45 home win vs. Judson University.

#GSUJaguarsJaguars' men's basketball team battled back with a 23-7 run to a 78-78 deadlock - & the GovState comeback falls 80-78 at IU South Bend Tuesday night.
Governors State (5-7, 1-3 CCAC) trailed 71-55 with 5:37 remaining before a 23-7 comeback in the final five minutes tied the game at 78-78 with steals and two baskets by Vincent Davis and a three-pointer from Javon Johnson in the final minute.
IU South Bend Kyle Millender hit two free throws with three seconds left and GSU did not get off a last-second three-pointer.
GSU's Javon Johnson (3) led the Jaguars in scoring with a game-high 24 points hitting 9-10 field goals and 4-5 three-pointers.
Vincent Davis scored 16 points and Vincent Mayes 14 points for the Jaguars.
Governors State next plays at home Saturday in the GSU ARC hosting Judson University at 3 p.m. in a men's-women's conference double header (women's game at 1 p.m.).
