Jaguars Basketball With Sweep Wednesday Night vs. Holy Cross In the GSU ARC

GSU's CCAC first place women's basketball team dominated Holy Cross from start to finish beating the Saints 90-62 Wednesday night in the ARC.

Zareia Chevre led the Jaguars with 26 points, hitting 9-12 FGs and 2-2 three pointers in the home victory. Kalvina Eubanks scored 24 points hitting 4-5 three-pointers for the winners.

GovState (14-4, 8-2 CCAC) is receiving votes and moving up in the NAIA national top 25 rankings this week earning 23 votes, most ever for the women's basketball program.

The Jaguars men's basketball team (8-9, 4-5) beat Holy Cross 81-59 with an impressive home sweep for Governors State University on Wednesday.

Javon Johnson scored 20 points with Vincent Mayes 13 points, 10 rebounds double-double and Tyrell Isom 12 points for GovState.

GSU (men's team) is at Trinity Christian on Saturday, 3 PM tip-off in Palos Heights, IL.

The GovState women next play Wednesday, 5:30 PM, January 22 in the ARC. Women's -Men's doubleheader vs. Viterbo, CCAC Conference games.
