Volleyball Team Sets Records Vs. Roosevelt

NEW VOLLEYBALL SCHOOL TEAM RECORDS IN FIVE-SETTER vs. ROOSEVELT THURSDAY NIGHT IN THE ARC

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL - GSU volleyball lost a heart-breaking five setter to CCAC foe Roosevelt University in the ARC, 24-26,25-21,35-33,25-27,15-10 for the Lakers road conference victory.

The new GSU school team/volleyball records set in the match included the 241 combined points, breaking the old record of 216 vs. Roosevelt in 2021.

The marathon 35-33 third set win by Roosevelt also broke the GSU school record for combined points in a set (68) (previous was 60, twice). Plus the 35 opponents points and 33 GSU points in the set are new school records.

GSU setter Yareli Pacheco had 48 assists Thursday night to fall two short of the school mark for assists in a match (50, Jamie Skvarla, 2021). GSU hitter Aleksandra Barac had a double-double with 28 kills and 14 digs. Pacheco also had a double-double with 48 assists and 14 digs.  Barac set a new school record last week at the South Dakota Tournament with 35 kills vs. Bethel (KS) in a five-setter to break Tunja Tatic's school match record of 31 kills set in 2022.
