WELCOME TO GSU JAGUAR ATHLETICS Dear Prospective Student-Athlete, Allow me to introduce myself as the first Athletic Director and Head Men’s basketball coach here at Governors State University. I am thrilled and humbled to be given a great opportunity to create a winning culture. Competitive athletics are essential to the continued transformation of GSU. While this is an exciting time in the life of athletics here at GSU, the coaching staff believes that each student should first excel in the classroom and secondarily focus on being a competitive athlete. We plan to recruit student athletes from all over, especially the Chicagoland area and Indiana. If you're looking to start tradition and set records, then you may find a home as a GSU Jaguar. I encourage you to consider the many degree programs for both freshman and transfer students that GSU has to offer. We are conveniently located 35 miles south of downtown Chicago with new apartment style housing on campus and much more.
