Record-setting GSU Performances At Indoor Season Finale at Grand Valley State Big Meet

GSU Head Men's/Women's Indoor Track Coach John Niendorf highlighted his top performers:

"Today at the Grand Valley Big Meet, was a big day for indoor track personal records. Krysta Stanko and Kaylee O'Sullivan both shattered the previous 5k records held at GSU. Krysta and Kaylee both ran 18:34 and 18:36 respectively. No GSU women have ever broken into the 18s and it was great to see a sophomore and freshmen hit the mark," said Coach Niendorf

"Daniel Zavala and Samuel Rocio also hit personal records in the 5k. Zavala ran 15:24 in the 5k, beating the GSU 5k indoor record. Samuel Rocio was not far behind, crossing the 5k race with a 15:25. I was happy with the effort these four runners showed, and I loved the way they each worked through the race smartly. Clark Fremouw, in the shot put, also set his own personal and school record as well. He threw 15.68m in the event and just missed qualifying for Nationals. I am really proud of the way Clark competed this indoor season and I can't wait to see what he does this outdoor season."

GSU's outdoor track opener is set for March 28 in St. Louis. (Washington University hosted)
