GSU Head Women's Bowling Coach Melanie McDaniel reports following a fourth place team finish at the Ebonite Warhawk Open in Addison, Illinois Sat-Sun December 7-8.
"Another top 5 finish for the Jaguars this weekend at the Warhawk Open!, said Coach McDaniel.
"The ladies finished 4th place at the Warhawk Open. They Qualified 4th to bracket play. The team bowled their first match against Culver-Stockton. They won 2-0 putting them in the semi-finals. They lost 2-0 to Calumet College of St. Joseph."
"The girls worked extremely hard together and continue to show growth week after week. We are 5 tournaments in, 4 of them being in the top 6--that's amazing for a second-year program! They are really making their mark in the collegiate bowling world, and I couldn't be prouder of them!"
"Grad Student, Olivia Daujatas lead the team averaging 213.2, which is a record setting performance for the Jaguars! She also earned her first all-tournament team as a Jaguar, finishing 3rd," said Coach McDaniel.
Next up for GovState women's bowling is a trip to Las Vegas, NV for two Tier 1 events, the Glenn Carlson Event and the Collegiate Shootout, December 18-21.
