GSU JAGUARS AMONG 2024 GRADUATION CLASS SATURDAY AT GOVERNORS STATE UNIVERSITY (55th) - COMMENCEMENT - Governors State University (GovState) hosted an in-person commencement ceremony that was marked by celebration and traditions for more than 1,000 graduates during two ceremonies on May 18, 2024, at the Tinley Park Convention Center. The conferring of degrees was led by President Dr. Cheryl Green.

She and other members of GovState leadership commemorated and offerred words of wisdom to a new community of scholars. Dr. Marlon Cummings, Associate Professor and Chair of the Division of Education and Leadership—delivered the keynote address encouraging Jaguars to "embrace the journey and leave a legacy." Graduating with a master's degree in Information Technology, Brian Skibinski shared an inspiring message with fellow graduates. GovState Alumna Cristy Gallegos delivered a speech of promise and fulfillment to all grads in the morning ceremony.
