JAGUARS COMEBACK TO WITHIN ONE - OLIVET NAZARENE LATE RUNS WIN IT FOR TIGERS 89-74

In a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game featuring scoring runs by both teams, Olivet Nazarene University had two second half runs to hold off the Jaguars 89-74 at the GSU ARC.
Governors State University (6-16, 4-10 CCAC) trailed at the half 40-32 and fell behind 13 early in the second half before staging a 15-3 scoring run to get within one point of ONU (53-52 with 13 minutes remaining) on two Tyrell Isom free throws.
Then Olivet Nazarene (16-6, 10-4 CCAC) went on a 18-4 scoring run to forge ahead 71-56 with seven minutes left in the game and never looked back in the road win.
GSU had five players score in double figures led by Isom and Jalen Levy with 11 points each. Dekari Graham, Kendall Brasfield and Oluyemi Elutilo all scored 10 points in the game.
Jaguars' starting point guard Chuck Owens Jr. filled up the stats sheet with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.
Two ONU players combined for 63 points with All-CCAC star Tyler Schmidt scoring 30 points, 7 assists and Sam Eunich scored a game-high 33 points for the Tigers.
The Jaguars are in the midst of a 5-games in-10 days stretch and next up for GSU is a home game Wednesday night 7 PM vs. St. Ambrose.
