The GSU Athletics Varsity Schedule Week Ahead is Highlighted by a - HOME DOUBLEHEADER TUESDAY - MEN'S SOCCER 2 P.M. - VOLLEYBALL 7 P.M - WOMEN'S SOCCER HOME WEDNESDAY 2 P.M at Crown Point, Indiana Sportsplex.

Also - Women's Bowling competes in its inaugural tournament this week.

Governors State University women's bowling team will compete in its first-ever tournament September 30-October 1 in Rockford, Forest Hills Bowling Center. The Jaguars will be competing in the NAIA and CCAC in 2023-24.

Melanie McDaniel was named the Head Women's Bowling Coach of the Jaguars earlier in the Spring.  This week Coach McDaniel and her team begin tackling the upcoming season schedule for 2023-2024 spanning over two semesters and 6-7 months season.

McDaniel from Joliet, IL was a three-time All-American bowler at NCAA Division I Alabama A&M University. Individually, she was Freshman of the Year in 2009 (SWAC), Bowler of the Year in 2012 (SWAC). Was a 4-time 1st team all-conference and 3 time All-American for the Bulldogs.

Melanie is currently a member of the Professional Womens Bowling Association (PWBA) tour with a scoring average of 225. In 2022-2023 she was an assistant bowling coach at Saint Xavier University last season in the CCAC.
