UNIVERSITY PARK, IL - Following three weekend tournaments to open the 2023 season, GSU volleyball plays at home in the ARC Tuesday and Thursday, 7 pm hosting CCAC Conference matches vs. St. Xavier (Tues) and Roosevelt University (Thursday).
GSU lost 25-20, 25-23, 25-16 Tuesday night to St. Xavier in the CCAC season home opener.
Men's Golf hosts the 2023 Jaguars Fall Tune-Up, Wednesday at Green Garden Country Club in Frankfort, IL, 9 A.M. start.
Women's soccer (1-1) hosts IU-Kokomo, 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crown Point, IN, Sportsplex following Saturday's 2-1 victory over Cleary University (MI) in Hammond, Indiana.
GSU volleyball player Aleksandra Barac (Jr. Beograd, Serbia) set a new school record with 35 kills in the five -set loss Saturday vs. Bethel (KS) in the South Dakota holiday weekend tournament. Barac broke Tunja Tatic's GSU school record of 31 kills in a 2022 match. Barac was nomintaed for CCAC volleyball Attacker of the Week honors for her record-setting performance.
Governors State University Head Volleyball Coach Pete Gonzalez is happy with his team's progress and with playing the home opening matches this week.
