GSU Jaguars Men's - Women's Cross Country Teams at CCAC Championship Meet Saturday In Iowa - 9 AM Hosted by St. Ambrose, Bettendorf, Iowa - Crow Creek Park -

GovState Head Cross Country Coach John Niendorf talks about the men'a & women's CCAC Meet Saturday:

"I am excited for the upcoming conference meet this Saturday! The women and men's teams have put in so much hard work this season and I, honestly, could not ask for a better group to coach. They have earned the right to do well, and I hope all the blood, sweat, and tears that they put into the season bears fruit for the ending of their seasons. The course is not particularly fast, so I am not expecting a ton of personal records, but the competition within the CCAC is incredibly tough.

"These teams in the CCAC have tough runners and are well coached. The women's side will feature ranked St. Francis and Olivet. Viterbo, St. Xavier, and St. Ambrose all have excellent front runners and any of them can qualify for Nationals as individuals. The men's side will have ranked St. Francis and Olivet Nazarene, who has been ranked all season up until the latest polling. St. Xavier and St. Ambrose have received votes as well this season to be ranked and have a slew of runners that can go to Nationals".

"To qualify for Nationals as a team you must finish 1st in a very competitive conference. To qualify as an individual to Nationals you must be All-Conference, which is top 15 in the race. On top of that you have to be a top four individual qualifier not on a qualifying team. With the way this conference is this year in terms of competitiveness, the men and women will have to race incredibly well to make it out to Nationals. I can't wait to watch the race and I know they will be up for the task."
