Men's Soccer Jaguars Shutout Dordt 6-0 With Six Different Players Scoring Goals

Hammond, Indiana -  Governors State University men's soccer team beat Dordt University (Iowa) 6-0 Saturday playing at Dowling Park in Hammond, Indiana.

Andrea Croce opened up the scoring for GSU (1-0-1) scoring from distance on the first shot of the game with an assist from Diego Camarena.

The scoring onslaught for the winners continued scoring four goals on the first seven shots of the contest with John Gonzalez, Flavio Di Palma and Rafael Silverio scoring three goals in a six minute stretch.

GovState led 4-0 at halftime and out-shot Dordt 18-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Javier Losa and Joan Gallardo scored second half goals for GSU and goalie Marcol Salom Chandre registered five saves for the shutout win.

The Jaguars next play at Briar Cliff (Iowa) Saturday, 4 p.m. August 31 and vs. Dakota Wesleyan (SD) on Sunday, 2 p.m., September 1, in Briar Cliff, Iowa.
