Jaguars Athletic Forum Kicks Off 2024-25 School Year - Milestone 10th Year of GovState Athletics!

"The purpose of the Athletic Achievement Forum was to provide student-athletes with a comprehensive support system that balances their academic, personal, and athletic growth. By addressing key areas such as academic advising, the forum ensures that athletes stay on track with their educational goals, aligning their course load with both their sport and future career aspirations.

 

Counseling and wellness resources are crucial, as they help student-athletes manage the pressures of competition, maintain mental health, and navigate personal challenges. Eligibility and study hall requirements ensure that athletes meet academic standards, maintain their athletic eligibility, and develop strong study habits essential for long-term success.

 

Finally, housing plays a vital role in offering a stable and supportive living environment, fostering a sense of community and enabling student athletes to focus on both academics and their athletic commitments. The forum thus integrates these elements to promote well-rounded success for student-athletes,". said GovState Assistant Athletic Director Chandra Thompson.
